Moving wordpress to different directory on server?

    I installed wordpress to my sh.net/blog directory
    I would like to make it the MAIN site, by moving it to the root directory. Can I just cut the files/folders out of the /blog directory, and paste them in the root directory? Or do I have to delete everything, and reupload the original files and run the install again?
