moving the loop around

i want to move the section on the twentyten theme in the posts were it says. posted in ‘the category name’ | 2 comments. To above the title of the post. i have attempted this by editing the loop file and moving the function that generates this to the desired location.

I uploaded the file overwriting the old one via FTP. though i see no changes in my file, i have cleared the catche also.

Is wordpress just slow on registering any updates made or anything?
