    I’ve already looked at that. Mine shouldn’t be any different than that. So what is wrong? This is driving me crazy.

    It looks like those quotes might be curly quotes which might be a problem.

    Yours:

    @import url(‘../twentytwelve/style.css’);

    Plain quotes:

    @import url('../twentytwelve/style.css');

    Just tried that it’s not that. Any other suggestions?

    If you changed that line, you need to switch to another theme and then switch back to this one.

    Also,

    Is your file structure correct?

    wp-content
        themes
           twentytwelve
              files
           twentytwelvechild
              style.css
           other themes you may have

    Don’t know what just happened but it seems to be working now! I changed the folder name to twentytwelvechild — would it have made a different that before that it was named something else?

    Anyways, thanks for the help!

    Maybe, hard to say if you’ve made several changes…Whatever, glad it’s working now.
