BTW, WordPress is also installed in /public_html.
I think all I did the last time I moved a blog was change the “resident” address in Options, update Options, then copy the files to the new folder.
Once you’ve updated Options, you can go to the wp-options table in the database using phpmyadmin to verify that the address was changed.
You mean you have 2 WP installs? I don’t think you need two…
About moving see http://wordpress.org/docs/installation/different-address/

I used cPanel to install WordPress more or less automatically. I see WordPress as a folder in / public_html and in / www /. Is this correct?
Yes, it’s correct, but if it has its own directory (called “wordpress” or “blog” or whatever…) then it is NOT installed in the /public_html/ – it is in its own directory.

So does this mean I have to copy all files to / public_html?
No. Did you read the instructions at the link I’ve posted above?

i just followed the instructions at http://wordpress.org/docs/installation/different-address/, but now the old one http://www.nohypemedia.com/wordpress doesn’t work anymore and new desired one http://www.nohypemedia.com with all wordpress files neither. Oops, what did I do?
I don’t know what did you do. If you followed the instructions (except 4. which is total nonsense:) it should work!

I did 1, 2 and 3. Before that I changed the URI in the Options page of WordPress to the new URL: http://nohypemedia.com. But it’s still not working. Could you perhaps help me if I give you the login details to my server, so you could check it out yourself in cPanel…? Please? We just need to do it in private.
In Options you change only the blog URI, not the WordPress URI.
(yes, you can email me at my name here at transycan dot net)
Uh, I want to do a similar thing, but before I change anything that currently exists I want to be certain I’m doing it right.
I have a website http://www.plushpuppytx.com My host has WordPress as an easy to install product, just click a few buttons. I’ve got a directory now called http://www.plushpuppytx.com/wordpress that contains all the wordpress stuff and 3 articles. I want to do a couple of things. I want to rename the blog directory to something else, but I’d like to know what choices I might have to do so. I have a website developed at http://www.plushpuppytx.com I want the blog separated from that. I think I can do http://www.plushpuppytx.com/whatever but I’ve seen other blogs that are http://www.blog. or / plushpuppytx.com something. I’m not certain that this is the only blog I’ll want to do from here, so I don’t want to be generic in name choice.
Then, as rester said above, my host says the stuff is located in my public_html. I use FrontPage to build my website. When I use the Front Page Publish command, I have to press No to a bunch of questions because the WordPress files are on the website but not on my local pc. I want to move whatever is necessary to a place where I don’t have to answer those questions everytime I publish.
Thanks for any clarifications you can provide.
