    I have a WordPress multi site, 1 main domain and 21 additional domains on it. Now I am changing host, Currently I am on just host and moving to go daddy, on go daddy I have a new domain which I want to make the main domain and want to make these 22 domains like sub-domains on it.

    A more clearer example here

    Site = Abc.com 21 additional domains = abc.net/info/ie/tk/eu/pk/in ….. and so on

    I want to move all these without losing any data to a new hosting and domain. What is the best process I should use this problem is not addressed any where , I searched everywhere , word press forum , stack exchange , Google , I can not get a clear answer of HOW TO DO THIS.

  • Hi mjobz. This thread may offer some info. Maybe GoDaddy support can offer some assistance (?).

    Godaddy Support said we do not have any documentation on this but I did my own , created new multi site on new domain I wanted , added old domains as sub domains and the imported database of all the old domains…

    There is a much easier way to do all of this. Basically , its just switching out the primary domain of your Multisite in the wp-config as well as in all tables of the database. There is a tutorial on this very subject on the support blog from WP Engine:

    http://wpengine.com/support/how-to-change-a-multi-site-primary-domain/

    What about your old domain, abc.com

    What happened to its content? Seems like it worked out good, you changed from abc to abcd.com but is abcd the old abc.com content? and abc.com content is now going to be new?

    After 6 hours is it still working? 😛 Hopefully!

    @bundleplan , I created a new multi site with abcd.com , then I added the old main site abc.com as a new subdomain on it and the others similiarly , then I copied and replaced the content of each folder and after then imported the database , it gave me a little error but I sorted it out (some tables were conflicting)

    cool thanks for the info!
