Moved index.php, lost my pages

I moved my index.php and .htaccess files according to this help file. Everything works great, with the exception of my pages (as opposed to posts, which are working fine).

I checked and rechecked my settings. I tried recreating the pages, a couple worked but most didn’t. If I make a new page with a unique name it works just fine. Not sure what else to look at.

WordPress 2.9.2, MySQL 5.0.
