Move WP from sub dir to root

I placed WP in a sub direcory so I could practice a bit first.

I am soon ready to move it to root dir.

I am working on a home page that will have links to previous static pages within the site.

If I move all the WP files in to the root directory will the newly created homepage with links etc come along?

Will this move disturb or delete any of the current static pages in the site?
