move wordpress to root

Hi Guys,

I want to move my wordpress blog to the root directory of my server.
So i read http://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress
So far everything is clear.
Following points 1) – 5) i would change

WordPress Address (URL) : http://www.example.com/az427/wordpress
Site Address (URL) : http://www.example.com/az427/wordpress

to

WordPress Address (URL) : http://www.example.com
Site Address (URL) : http://www.example.com

the thing i’m not sure is about, if to leave a “/” behind .com, or not.
Does it make a difference at all?

I’m just afraid to destroy something if i’m doing it wrong
