More Spam once plugin installed | WordPress.org

Hi I installed the BruteForce plugin last night on 2 of my sites and I got more spam than before. Is there a reason for this and how can I stop it and am I more safe with it or not, this makes me question it more.

Hi Clare– BruteProtect doesn’t have any effect on your spam either way– we only run when someone attempts to log in to your site.

Are you using Akismet? That’s the best way to cut down on spam
