The slider is always supposed to be full screen, regardless of device. So there isn’t much to optimize. Unfortunately it’s not great in your case because you have the text added directly in the image as far as I can see.
I’ve tried to drop the background in and just add the title for the first slide and the text doesn’t appear at all on mobile devices now. Its just blank.
Yeah, that’s because we’re hiding the text slider on small screens because it won’t fit for most people who use a lot of text.
So are there any other options for getting my full text on there?
Not at the moment, no. But we plan to add an option to let people enable the text slider on small screens but we’ll need to work on it a bit to make sure if fits most use cases.

or is there a another option where I can use a widget in page builder to just make an image sit on top – then just select not banner/ header image?
