I recently installed WordPress 3.2.1 on my website. Everything was working fine except that I am missing the “Front Page Displays” option on my Settings–>Reading options of my admin area. It just begins with “Blog pages show at most.”

I redownloaded WordPress and uploaded that but it has not fixed the issue. Please advise as I’m out of ideas.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

esmi, yes I have. I haven’t installed any plugins yet and haven’t even activated the plugins that come with WordPress. Also, using any theme including Twenty Eleven still leaves the Settings–>Reading “Front Page Displays” completely MIA.

I’m at a complete loss. Even reinstalling WordPress for a third time hasn’t helped.

Did you re-install using a fresh download of WordPress?

Completely fresh. Only reinserted the wp-config file.

I believe that option is hidden until you publish two pages.

I should have posted this months ago, but once I published everything and reinserted the wp-config file, it worked fine. Oy vey.
