Missing robots.txt

    What could be the reason for a missing robots.txt?

    Usually Yoast generates it automatically, but it’s missing in the linked site.

    I do have file editing disabled, but I have that on all my sites and on the other sites the robots.txt file is there.

    Thanks, but it’s not addresses there, this is a different issue on a different site.

    On this site, WP doesn’t create the file dynamically. It’s not there if I visit the url.

    1. Disabled file editing can’t be the cause. It’s disabled on all my sites and only this site has a missing robots file.
    2. How can it be a server level permission if it’s a dynamic file? The file doesn’t exist on the server on any of my sites if I look with FTP, but it;s there if I enter the url to the file. Except on this site.
