Missing Posts From Sitemap

I just switched from Rankmath and found that Yoast is only listing 55 blog posts out of 450? The site is hosted on WPEngine. I have cleared all cache and switched the sitem generator on and off and still only shows 55 posts.

Looks like everything publidhed before 2024/05/08 is not getting picked up

Your Yoast SEO-generated XML sitemap should be at /sitemap_index.xml/ but it doesn’t work. Can you ensure the XML sitemap feature is turned ON in the plugin?

I see, @art137. I copied the URL from what you filled in the The page I need help with: field. This post is in the post sitemap. See screenshot.

/ayman-tarabishy/perfect-storm/ was published before 2024/05/08 and not in the sitemap. You have set a custom canonical URL for the post: <link rel="canonical" href="https://icsb.org/perfectstorm/" />. This means you want the page URL to be ignored by search engines and the canonical URL should be indexed. If this isn’t your intention, I recommend editing the post and ensuring the canonical URL field in the advanced tab of the Yoast SEO meta box is empty.

This is what was imported from Rankmath. Apparently slug changes/redirects are picked up as canonicals by Yoast.
