• Even before upgrading to the latest version of wordpress, I uploaded 2 images to my media library. The titles were there but no image icons. I can go click on the edit button and the image shows up but it won’t load onto my page.
I checked the other images and their file URL has a string like this…http://www.domainname…/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/0-e1373193135834.png
The latest uploaded images has a file URL string like this…http://2014/03/(company logo name)-e1393995162397.png

i upgraded to the latest version of wordpress 3.8.1 but no joy. can anyone steer me in the right direction to fix this please?

2 months ago and no reply? Hello? Anybody there? Or care?

change the file type from .png to .gif or .jpg Or rename your image files and try to upload again.

It’s possibly a file permission issue. Review the ownership and permissions of the wp-content/uploads directory tree. Compare what you find with the codex changing file permissions page.

Thankyou Haseeb and Dave, I’ll give it a try.

    Haseeb,

I changed the image file from png to jpg. I then uploaded it to my media library but it is still called a png file.

    This really sucks.

delete all the images from media library, and try to upload again.

I tried that with one image as a test, Haseeb but that image when reloaded now will not show up.

    I’m getting nowhere!

You have to concern with you host admin. Or you can install new WordPress installation.

I’ve installed all the recent Word Press updates. I still am unable to upload any images correctly to my website. This really, really sucks!

    Dave Naylor,

Thanks for your reply. I’m a novice at web site building. Can you tell me how to sort out this permission and ownership wp-content/uploads directory tree please?
