For some reason the plugin is adding just a link rel=”prev”, but no link rel=”next” tag. I can’t identify the root of the problem (e.g. a conflict, bug, etc.), nor do I see an option to disable these tags. I assume the tag is being added by SEO Press, because the link rel=”prev” disappeared upon disabling the plugin. Please share if you’ve faced this issue and what may be causing it.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi,

to change this, go to SEO, Titles and metas, Advanced tab, and uncheck “Indicate paginated content to Google” option.

Save changes and clear your cache.

    Thank you for this response!

And do you know what could be the reason why only one of the link tags is being inserted?

It depends if it the first post of the query or not.

Same for the last post, you will not have the next tag, only the prev one.

It’s neither of the two – the example page https://www.scalefocus.com/blog/page/2 is 2 out of 20, so there should be both previous and next. However only link rel=”prev” is there.

    Your link returns a 404 error…

Apologies, it was a temporary website issue. The page is available now.

We are not able to reproduce the issue on our local setup.

Which theme are you using please?

Do you have a caching plugin?

    Thread Starter hristoforkostadinov

    (@hristoforkostadinov)

We’re using a custom theme based on Sage (https://roots.io/sage/).

We don’t have a caching plugin. Instead we’re using a tool of the hosting provider SiteGround, but this is not relevant to the issue, since the same is problem is visible in my local setup.

In case this information is insufficient, feel free to close the topic, we’ll look further into this locally.

    Thanks

Try to switch on your local setup to the default WP theme (eg: twentytwentyfive) to see if it solves the issue or not.

This way we can determine if this a theme issue or not.

Thank you for the advice. Both rel links appear on the twentytwentythree theme. In fact the links appear on the search result pages of our custom theme. Apparently the problem is in the pagination setup on our blog pages. We’ll look further into that.

Thank you again for the helpful advice and support.

    Best regards
