missing left hand sidebar on dashboard

hi there

i have just installed prophoto but have realised that i dont have the left hand side bar in the admin dashboard.. in fact i dont think i have ever had it…

i read in another post about disabling plugins but i have just uploaded one today with the prophoto folders so it doesn’t make sense to deactivate what i have just installed.

any help would be great..
