Missing field item on Google Search Console

    Hi,

    I’ve just gotten today over 100 errors in the search console. All of them have the same error, “Missing field item”. I’ve included one of the links as an example while creating this topic.

    It seems the common issue is that , the “item” property is missing on every last breadcrumb link or the current page in the breadcrumb list.

    This issue only happened after upgrading the plugin from 15.3 to 17.6

    Hi @sheungong

    When we test that URL in Google’s Rich Results Tool here, we do see the error of ‘missing field “item”‘ for the breadcrumb schema output.

    However, when we view the page source of that URL, it looks like the Yoast SEO meta data is outputting twice in the source code. We’re not sure why that is occurring, but we recommend performing a conflict check. Once you’re able to resolve the issue of the duplicate output, you can test it in Google’s Rich Results Tool again and then check if the issue is resolved, and you can validate the fix in GSC after.

    Hi Micheal,

    We’ve able to determine the issue with the duplicate output and was able to remove it.

    We’ve ran another test with Google’s Rich Results Tool and the error seems to be fixed.
