Themes has the correct process.
If you continue this thread, please provide link to download the theme and maybe someone can take the time to confirm your problem.
Sometimes zips don’t competely extract so also look at using http://7zip.org
I too seem to be having a similar problem. I have a locally installed WP 2.7 blog and had downloaded and installed 2 new themes into the wp-themes folder. They both appeared and I tried them but was not satisfied with them so I brought in another one but it would not appear in the admin area but the others did.
I also tried to upgrade one of the new themes (Gear) to an announced upgrade but the automatic upgrade would not work. It said it could not delete the plug-in. I them deleted the original vertion and put in the upgrade manually but the new one does not appear.
I have also brought in another theme which says it is for 2.7 but it too will not appear.
Now, what I have noticed is that each time I have a theme in the themes folder which does not appear a message at the bottom of the themes admin page appears as Broken Theme saying the following themes is installed but not complete. It does not name a theme but has the message “Stylesheet is missing.” Looking in the theme folders shows the style.css file so I am stumped.
Any clues to my dilemma would be gratefully appreciated.
It is the cognoblue theme, which I downloaded from wordpress.org
kimmer551 – Downloaded, extracted, upload, and successfully activated the CognoBlue theme.
No problems on a locally hosted XAMPP install or a shared hosting environment.
