Minimun/maximum characters required for fields

I want my website to be as secure as possible, so I would like all usernames to be at least 6 characters and all passwords at least 8 characters long (as well as require one symbol and one number). Right now it’s possible to sign up with only 1 character for the username and 1 character for the password — NOT a good idea!!!

Is there a way to turn on this requirements? I do have Better WP Security installed, and it’s “strong passwords required” settings turned on, but it doesn’t work with the Simplr registration form.

Ideas? Or is this a feature request?
