I am attempting to find a solution so that we can offer several different kinds of shirts for sale, take payment for the shirt, but only charge the payment when a certain number of that kind of shirt has been ordered.

In other words, we put a shirt on the site but will only sell the shirt once we hit a minimum of 20 or 25 shirts ordered.

I have looked through the plug-in gallery but can’t find anything outside of minimums per customer & that sort of thing.

    Thank you!

    Hi @invertedm,

This sounds pretty similar to the crowdfunding model and is a scenario where the WooCommerce Pre-Orders extension would shine.

It’ll allow you to set your shirt product as a pre-order item that is only charged upon release. In your case, you’ll want to set a release date that is far to the future and once you hit your minimum order requirement, you can release the product and cause all your customer’s cards to be charged.

It’s best to be upfront to your customers about this so that they know how long they need to wait to find out if this is successful or not.

You also want to make sure that you’re using one of the payment gateways listed here as they are the ones that support this type of operation – https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/pre-orders/#section-20

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.
