Migration to WordPress.org – problems with permalinks

Hi

I am wondering if anyone would be kind enough to try and help me with something I’ve spent all day trying to resolve concerning my blog http://www.theculinaryjumble.com?

Against my better judgement, I went ahead with migrating my wordpress.com account to wordpress.org, hosted by bluehost (oh, it’s so easy, they said!) I seem to have managed to copy all my files over (I think) but when I try to use wordpress.com or any other links that come from the original blog, I get the 404 error message.

I have tried downloading a plugin for redirection and also saving the permalinks but to no avail.

Could someone possibly explain in very simple, idiot-proof terms where I might be going wrong? I have over 130 posts scattered all over the internet and it is making me feel quite anxious that nobody can access my “old” blog or its information.
