Hello, I have disconnected and reconnected to my Merchant centre account because I’m still showing Content API feeds in data sources, despite being on v3.8.1.

Post reconnect, the plugin is showing as syncing, but in Merchant centre nothing has changed. I am still showing Content API as the data feed and the product level feed.

    My specifics…

    Plugin: Google for WooCommerce v3.8.1
    Merchant Center ID: 704267687
Issue: Data Sources still shows “Content API” for the Google for WooCommerce (en/GB) source after full plugin update to 3.8.1 (which includes the “Migrate to Merchant API” changelog item) and a full disconnect/reconnect of all linked accounts
Evidence: individual product rows in Merchant Center → Products still show Content API as data source with pre-reconnect timestamps

Is the Merchant API migration for existing connections gated behind a rollout/feature flag, and if so, when is my account expected to receive it — given the 18 August 2026 Content API shutdown is not that far away now.

    Kind Regards

    Hey there @ftahumour ,

Thanks for reaching out to support about the Migration to Merchant API.

Yes, stores using the Google for WooCommerce extension version 3.8.0 or later sync products via the Merchant API instead of the Content API.

That said, it doesn’t modify the data source in the Google Merchant Center, which is why you might see the data source as Content API in the Google Merchant Center dashboard. Please note that the underlying sync mechanism has been updated to use the newer Merchant Centre API. The new syncing mechanism syncs to the same data source ID, requiring no changes from the user other than updating the extension.
You can verify this in the product sync logs, where you would see the word MAPI, which is the newer API

So, no changes are required on your end with this API change, as products are being synced via the Merchant API. I hope that helps. Please let us know if there is anything else we can help you with.
