Migrating to new server

I downloaded all my files a few days ago, then downloaded the sql databases today to switch to a new server, same domain. I have now created the wp database with the same user and name as my wp-config.php file. Now I have installed the databases I download as backup, then started uploading the files via FTP. Then filezilla asked me if i wanted to overwrite, I said no to the first 2 files realizing they were an older date, but then remembering that I probably needed the older version to overwrite for the rest of the files. My question is, there is nothing to really overwrite because the folders weren’t created and this is a fresh new server. Does filezilla recognize SQL databases and realize that the database is newer? and does my rejection of the first 2 files cripple my successful transfer? The nameservers haven’t acclimated yet so I can’t test anything.
