• Hello,

First of all, your plugin looks really cool. I believe it will help us handle the search functionality for our website, which has more than 1 million posts. We have a quite powerful server and use the Meta Box plugin with custom database tables to store those custom posts.

In the plugin’s FAQ section, you stated: ‘When configuring searchable fields for an index, you can select from all available post meta keys. This includes custom fields from plugins like ACF, Meta Box, and any other custom meta.’

So, my question is: Is your plugin compatible with Meta Box when using its Custom Database Tables extension?

Meta Box has official add-ons for SearchWP and FacetWP, but neither of them can perform better than Meilisearch at this scale in my opinion.

    Kind regards,
    Serdar

Hello Serdar, sorry for the late reply, our development team is a bit shorthanded for the next week. It sounds like a Meilisearch integration is definitely your best bet due to your extremely large post library, and I am glad you like the Scry Search plugin as a solution.

To answer your question, I took a look at the way the mb-custom-table premium plugin works, and, unfortunately, no, the Scry Search plugin will not be able to pull fields from those alternate tables, as it only supports the wp_postmeta table by default. However, that is a great idea for an upgrade to the plugin. If the team were to develop and release a premium upgrade that adds support for records from other tables to the post indexing (including the custom tables used by Meta Box), is that something you would be interested in? We are always looking for premium upgrades to add to our premium upgrades page that will enhance our users’ search experience. Let me know your thoughts!
