Of course, a more specific request might lead to a specific plugin.
I use head-meta-desc, it’s simple but effective. meta title is the same as the post title and description is a substr of the post.
I was coming to ask the same question.
I found the list of available plugins for creating meta tags.
But it was just alphabetized.
I would have like to seen how many people use the different ones.
I want uniqueness for each post not a global setting.
