Meta Slider Flicker in Chrome Browser

    I am having a very weird problem with META SLIDER.

    I am using WordPress 4.2.3, Meta Slider 3.3.4 and SiteOrigin’s Vantage pro theme. https://wordpress.org/themes/vantage/

    Issue: The slider has two images. It would run once with no issues then on the second round it will flicker or produce a white flash on the second image of the slider.

    The issue only happens when using the Google Chrome browser. The silder works as expected with Safari and Firefox. The funny thing is that if I make the Google Chrome window bigger the problem goes away.

    I suspect the issue happened after the latest update of the chrome browser (Version 44.0.2403.125 – 64-bit) as when I updated my WordPress installation and plugins everything was working as expected. I only noticed the issue after the update of Chrome.

    It works with other themes: Haven’t Tried
    It works when I disable all other plugins: Haven’t Tried

    Hi Neo,

    Thanks for the report, weird indeed. As you’ve already said, I think this is a rendering issue with Chrome.

    You could switch to FlexSlider, then disable the CSS3 transitions using this code:

    That might help.

    I don’t think there is really anything we can do to fix the rendering issue itself from this end, you will need to wait for a fix in Chrome. If it helps at all, I have checked here in Chrome (on mac) and it’s working OK.

    Hi Tom,

    Thank you very much for replying to my post. I’m glad you didn’t experience the issue on your mac. It happens to me only on my mac using Chrome but I have to have the browser window the right size. If the window is smaller or bigger there is no issue. The issue only happens with a medium sized window. The issue might have been there all along as I have always opened the site in a big browser window. It is not a big deal. I will wait and see what happens if the issue is not resolved at a later date with an update I might change to FlexSlider or just leave it as it is …
