Are you Googling your url?
You need to Google site:www.hotlagoon.com to see your meta description as Google has indexed it.
Example of how to correctly use Google to find how your site is indexed – https://www.google.com/#q=site:www.hotlagoon.co.uk&safe=off
You can see that the description used by Google is identical to the description you’ve used.
When you Google your url without that site command, Google is looking for the exact string of text – “hotlagoon.co.uk” – on your site.
It displays that stuff you’ve posted for the description because it contains the relevant text (the url) you’ve asked Google to look for.
I am having this issue HUGELY. I brought up the https://www.google.ca/?gfe_rd=ctrl&ei=yIsHU8LJKqXP8gfCrYHQBQ&gws_rd=cr#q=site:https://carmssafety.ca&safe=off and saw exactly what I hate seeing. Not the meta descriptions I’ve put in. My main front page has the damn first 2 sentences as the description instead of the site description. This is driving me insane!!!
I’ve fallen huge in ranks. Anything I’ve been reading to improve seems to worsen. My sire has WAYtoo many pages indexed. Archives are no indexed and they’re indexed.
HELP!!!

My pages are supposedly optimized to heck (all green), and not a single page shows in search. I get all the other crap instead. I’m truly losing it. Why bother with meta descriptions and checking no index on archives if none of it works, and just had me thinking it was for a week only to find I had fallen off googles page.
