    Hello,

Some time ago, I noticed that my site’s meta-description wasn’t changing despite using the SEO Yoast extension. Thanks to the help of an expert on the subject, I was able to solve the problem. However, when I checked the site again, the meta-description had reverted to its original state.

    Can anyone help me, please?

Thank you and have a nice day.

    Best regards,

  • Hello @didiao,

Would you please provide us with some screenshots or a short video of the issue you faced step by step?
You can upload your files to one of the following online services:
    https://imgbb.com
    https://loom.com
    https://drive.google.com
    https://wetransfer.com
    https://dropbox.com

However, you can follow the article on troubleshooting meta descriptions: https://yoast.com/help/im-not-seeing-a-meta-description-in-my-head-section/.

Please Remember: Mostly if you made any changes on your website and didn’t apply, it means that your site is cached, and you will not see the changes. To resolve this, you must clear all levels of cache, including cookies, CDN, host cache, plugin cache, and browser cache. Then, check the site again.

    Please keep us posted.
    I hope it helps.
    Best Regards

    Hello @didiao,

    Thank you for reaching out,

It seems you used the correct place to edit/add the meta description, but could be cache affect it. However, the main meta description on your site is controlled by Yoast SEO plugin not in the theme, in this case, please follow its plugin documentation.
    Screenshot: https://postimg.cc/fSdHmcY6.

Note 1: changes to the meta description in search engines may take time to appear.

Note 2: If you have any cache plugin or server cache(CDN / Browser Cache and Cookies and …), you need to clear its cache contents or disable them to see your changes. Also, remember to click on the regenerate all assets file and data in Elementor > Tools(if you have Elementor).

    I hope it helps.
    Best Regards

    Hello,

I’m coming back to you regarding the site’s meta description. Despite the manipulations I’ve made, such as clearing the cache and following Yoast SEO’s instructions, the meta description still hasn’t changed.

I don’t know what else to do.

Thank you and have a nice day.

    Hello @didiao,

    Thank you for reaching out,

All SEO settings in the theme can be found in WP Dashboard > Appearance > Customizer > General Options > SEO Settings. However, we don’t have an option to manage the meta descriptions. Since you are using the Yoast SEO plugin, the meta descriptions are controlled by this plugin. For further assistance, it would be best to get in touch with the third-party plugin author. They might have a solution that we are not aware of.

    Best Regards
