Merging databases (User ID conflicts)

    I have a web store that sells downloads. The site was damaged by a php upgrade and I rebuilt. I want to merge the old database, but the User IDs have started over again from #1 up, meaning that now I have ID duplications which compromise each user’s account.

    Is there a way for me to merge the databases and insure that the new user IDs continue from the last? In other words, can I reset the new IDs to begin at, say 500?

    Convoluted, I know, but I appreciate any help I can get.
