Hi, I have tried everything to get the images on my menu to display how I want. It is very simple. It seems that the plugin is not obeying the options I enter.

If I enter an icon size of 48px or 40px or 60px, it stays the same and doesn’t change its size.

I cannot get the top and bottom icon padding to cooperate either. It stays the same no matter what size I make the icons or button size.

I had it set up and working as I wanted but the last update ruined it. Now there is a space above the icons and below the icons which I cannot get to change. The entire menu now has a scroll bar (vertical) which it should not have since the icons do not span the entire page height while the menu background does. Like I mentioned, it worked great before that last update.

    Any ideas or suggestions?

If I enter custom css, how will my custom css be followed by the plugin when I don’t know the class name of the individual components to customize their setup? Thanks

    Hi there,

Please provide a site URL so I can take a look as its impossible to say without something to look at.

Its likely you have conflicting css in your theme that may need overwriting or something similar.

Finding the CSS component class names can easily be found using your browsers web inspector tools, by looking in your source code or in the plugin files themselves.

    Hey there,

I don’t see it installed on that site – did you remove it?

Yes. The plugin appeared to develop problems which got worse and worse with each attempt to correct them so I decided to uninstall it. It did work really good for a couple weeks. I don’t know what went wrong.

This has happened with numerous plugins and with no support from anything associated with WordPress, I don’t even have a contact form on the site anymore. Likely I will have to construct an entirely new site of a different format. WordPress is too much work and malfunctions too often, constant repair/maintenance is required. I must say, you are the first plugin makers I have come across associated with WordPress products who offered any assist whatsoever. Figured you were all gone for the weekend. I’ll close this thread now.

    Hey russell,

That is a strange experience you are facing with all the plugins slowly falling apart that you use and not one I have come across before.

As you say maybe a full fresh install including database would be good and maybe a move of host might help but I cant be sure as I dont know your setup.

Also your theme could be the cause of the issues so maybe try rebuilding that or find a well trusted one.

I wish I was gone for the weekend but I can never switch off as I care about my plugin and the people that use it so try to help as often and as much as possible.

I hope you find the cause of your issues and if you need any help in future please let me know!

I appreciate your kindness. I may reactivate the plugin after some adjustments. I am finding that the most problems arise when using security plugins. Each security plugin I have tried only brought me headaches and robot spamming, which it is supposed to prevent. Go figure. I only tried the ones with top ratings too. I even used the top one until I found that they wanted hundred$ per year for it.

I have rebuilt the entire site several times now in different themes. Each one carries its own issues with itself and the plugins. I guess it was just too good to be true that a website software came out with plugins to offer us all the options and operations of the big sites and companies. Not long ago I had to program everything manual and own my own scripts/programs to all site operations plus find hosting that could accommodate.

I did notice one thing about the Responsive Menu plugin. On mobiles, the responsive menu hamburger was not appearing, only a hamburger to the site main nav on the opposite side. Your menu did not show on phones and such in my case, didn’t get to try a tablet.

I will let you know when I give it another shot. I wanted to buy the plugin. Your pricing is very fair and affordable.

Anyways, thanks again. Nice day to you.

    Hey russell,

WordPress is very convenient for small website owners who arent developers or programmers and dont intend to be but just want to get a quick site up and online.

For any serious projects I dont use WordPress myself as I like to have full control over everything as you say, however WordPress does have its place for your average run of the mill site.

You can create advanced setups but in reality in my case I always end up with a site thats not really a WordPress site anymore as I customise it so heavily and usually at this point end up rebuilding it using a PHP Framework or from scratch.

Im not sure why my plugin didnt show for you on mobile, maybe if you get it setup again in future we can work together to get it showing as its usually a simple fix.

Anyway thanks for your kind words and support and if you need me in future, Ill be here!

    All the best
