    Hi David,

When a group of images are uploaded they fall into the correct gallery order without my intervention in inserting values for the menu order field for each.

I was wondering what data the software is using. Is it the base file

    nebula-stars-dust-01
    nebula-stars-dust-02
    nebula-stars-dust-03
    etc

or when it becomes the Name/Slug

    nebula-stars-dust
    nebula-stars-dust-2
    nebula-stars-dust-3
    etc

    or something else?

and would this mean that I don’t need to use the menu order field, and could possibly skip the step of providing each image a number value.

Also, just curious is the menu order field an MLA creation or part of the native WordPress

    thanks!

    Thanks for your questions.

The default orderby clause for [mla_gallery] has two values: first, menu_order Ascending and second, ‘ID(post ID) Ascending. This displays items in the order that they were uploaded to the Media Library, i.e. oldest item (lowest ID) first, unless you override that with an explicitmenu_order`.

The menu_order field is a WordPress core feature and is available for posts, pages, attachments and all custom post types.

I am marking this topic resolved, but please update it if you have any problems or further questions regarding the above information. Thanks for your continued interest in the plugin.
