• Hi,

I have a problem with my page where if I click on the something in the menu, the URL changes but new sub-page is now open. All pages are made and should be linked properly…
I guess that it might be caused by some problem with the theme/templates.. As in the beginning I had a different theme and then I changed it and when I opened the new theme I still could see some leftovers from the previous theme. Then I deactiveted all the plugins, pages and media related to the previous theme, but nothing seems to help.

    Anybody who could help please?

You are using the optimization plugin W3TotalCache. I would recommend deactivating this first to rule it out as the cause.

Hi, I deactived W3TotalCache but it is still now working. I also tried to make a new homepage and the old one deleted but also did not do anything.

Unfortunately, W3TotalCache sometimes leaves leftovers that still work. Take a look at the .htaccess file via FTP. It should not contain anything from W3TotalCache. There could also be a cache directory in /wp-content/. You can ask for details on how to deactivate the plugin correctly in their support forum: https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/w3-total-cache/

    Hi,
I deactived the plugin correctly, also everything from /wp-content/. I also deleted inactive themes from directory.
It seems it is a theme problem as when I tried to active a different theme, the menu was working correctly.

How to solve this kind of problem?

Strange. I have the following tips, which you should check in order:

    • Change the theme to a default theme like TwentyTwentyFive. Do the pages look different with it?
    • Check which template is assigned to the pages. This can usually be seen on the right when editing the pages, sometimes it is also a theme setting. It is possible that they are all assigned the same standard template of your theme, which always displays the same content. Contact the support of your theme if necessary.
    • Check the server settings. You are using an nginx web server, which is why there is probably no .htaccess file being used. Talk to your hoster’s support team about this if necessary.
