    So, I’ve watched a video about menus, and I see that in the video, a drop-down appears when category pages were nested inside pages. Yet when I do that, I don’t get a drop down.

    Is there some extra code, such as js, that he added that I didn’t?

    I’m sorry. I have 4 categories of stories (audio, video, etc) and I want them to drop down from the “Stories” page.

    Okay, so you are using a theme – this one:

    /*
    Theme Name: The HTML5 Reset Blank Theme ORIGINAL
    Theme URI: http://html5reset.org
    Description: A style-free theme to get you started on an HTML5-based WordPress theme of your own.
    Author: Monkey Do!
    Author URI: http://monkeydo.biz
    Version: 1
    */

    One problem is that that theme isn’t released under the GPL license – which means that we really can’t provide support here – it’s WP/forums policy, sorry :(.

    If you want to use a similar “blank” theme that is supported here, you could look at Toolbox or BlankSlate.

    I did look at your site, though, and it looks like those menus do need CSS… If you want to pursue that, a good CSS forum is http://csscreator.com .

    Dude, I really need your help. I have absolutely no idea what I’m doing.

    First, I’m female :)! And as much as I’d like to help, I gotta go by the rules here.

    But let’s back-up – are you moving a site from someplace else to WP? A “blank” theme might not be the best way to go if you don’t know quite a bit of HTML and CSS (and how WP works).

    sorry, dudette.

    i’m moving it from a static site to wordpress…i know css and html, but my main problem is that i made two pages using a single style sheet, and some code seems to be overlapping and “fighting” with the wordpress code.

    For context: The site SHOULD look like this:

    and i need somebody to comb over the code with me to determine why everything looks, well, terrible.

    That’s most likely CSS – and even with a theme that’s supported here, extensive custom work really is outside the scope of these forums. If you want to hire someone, you could post a job here:

    Personally, I’d start with more of a theme than “blank” – and work from there modifying it as you need to… Suffusion is a theme that has TONS of options, layouts and is easily customized –

    Ok. Tanks.
