    Hello guys,

I’ve installed Yoast SEO plugin on my site and when I activate it, I get below error –

PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 268435456 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 20480 bytes) in /home/public_html/wp-includes/meta.php on line 1074

Does this error related to Yoast plugin? Could you please suggest about this?

    Thanks!!

  • @codehunter Thank you for contacting the Yoast support team. We are sorry to hear that you’re having trouble with memory errors on your site. Unfortunately we aren’t able to say exactly what caused this memory error on your site.

This error occurs when your server runs out of memory to complete the task at hand. Increasing the memory allotted or decreasing the number of tasks will fix the issue.

In order to fix the error, you’ll need to increase the maximum allowed memory by reaching out your web hosting provider. If you’re familiar with server management, you can change the “memory_limit” value directly from the “php.ini” file. Please refer to our guide to learn more about this here: https://yoast.com/help/common-installation-update-errors/#memory-exhausted
