membership levels

We are going to have two min membership levels:
Annual Membership for $20
Fourth Quarter Annual Membership for $20
Am I thinking correctly on this?

Question 1:
Annual Membership
We want it be a one year membership that needs to be renewed on Jan 1 of each year. So it is a calendar year renewal
I see there is the Expire After ____ years option
Fixed Date Expiry____
We do not want the Expire after because of the calendar year membership.
We want the Fixed Date Expiry.
The Challenge: On 1/1/2024 all of the annual memberships will expire. We want that when the memberships expires or more importantly before it expires the members can renew. Of course, they cannot renew the fixed date membership. So, it looks like the only option is we have to create a new annual membership ahead of each year and tell them to renew through the new annual membership. Any other solution?

Question 2:
Fourth Quarter Annual Membership
It needs to be another fixed date membership. There needs to be a new annual membership made before 1/1/2025.

We also will need to create another Fourth Quarter Annual Membership before Sept 2024.

So it looks like we need to create memberships with specific dates/years in the name of the membership level. correct?

Question 3
We would like to have automatic renewals so that the member does nothing, their membership renews automatically. There is no way to do that with a calendar year membership, correct??
