Now I am have more Media Madness. When I am able to insert photos, they appear in odd places – not where the cursor is. Worst part, I cannot get rid of them. I select the photo, delete, then save. Voila! They are back again. Nothing works. This is wasting a lot of critical time in course building. I do hope you will be able to send help at once. Thanks again, Dr. Barb

sadly the editor is not good in this plugin.
And gets even worse when you try to edit the code directly.

it reformats and adds paragraphs, to the oddest of places.
I’ve had no big issues adding or removing images to be honest, but placements and working with the whole thing tends to get jiffy.

another thing can be that sometimes the editor tends to “reformat” the text or code in unwanted ways, and you end up with odd character changes that will result in a faulty html code.
sometimes I’ve had to Re’save and it formats some of the characters to the correct format.
sometimes i have to enter into the code and fix it myself, not fun since it all gets minified/wrapped and the end result tends to be jiffy since this char encoding tends to change the things im editing.

worst case cenario I had to enter the mysql database and fetch the unit and directly change it there.

Thanks so much, Vallivals. Yes, this really does need some work. However, I did figure out a solution last night. For each segment of the Unit page I made a separate mini unit. I don’t know what to call it, but what I did is this-

after creating the unit I opened a mini segment by choosing either “text” or “photo” from the choices offered across the top of the mini. If the first part of my page was text, I opened a text box and entered and formatted the text portion. If a picture follows, I opened a second mini with”photo” and loaded the picture. When I had three views of the photo, each went into their own separate mini. Then another for some text, more for illustrations, etc.

For my single Unit page, I have 8 minis. This keeps the material stable. A good thing is that the minis can be reordered by dragging up and down. It works!

yeh, don’t be afraid to use the module holders, they are great ;D
also lessens the load of each Query, but im pondering if it is the cause of my current issue with slow loading. when it’s cycling through many units, pages and holders(mini’s)….

that is when opening the course overview it’s taking over a minute to load.. and users don’t like waiting for stuff like that.. (only happens on the overview)..

    Hey Vallivals and Brahmiknit,

Hope you’re both doing well today!

We are working on an adding an HTML editor to the unit builder 🙂

Are you still having any issues with the images here Brahmiknit?

@Vaillivals, are you still having slow load issues on your site? I’ve been testing on my sandbox and haven’t been able to reproduce that yet.

Look forward to hearing back here!

    All the best,
    Tyler

I have resolved the issue by starting a new “page” for each element in my course. Thus, one course “unit” may look something like this:

    page 1 one photo
    page 2 text
    page 3 photo
    page 4 text
    page 5 photo
    page 6 text

This way the elements of the unit can be re-arranged.

    Hi @brahmiknit,

Thanks for posting your solution, really glad you were able to find a feasible workaround for that! Meanwhile, we’ll take a look with the developers on ways to make this all easier for ya. 🙂

@vallivals similarly, if you could let us know, perhaps with a new ticket, any suggestions or issues you’re seeing currently, we’d love to look into that. Really appreciate your feedback and willingness to help others too!

    Cheers!
    David
