• Good morning,

    today I am having trouble uploading new pictures because it says it can’t be moved to the wp-content/etc. After deleting pictures in the library it was suddenly possible to upload media again. So my question: How do I allocate more space to the media library?

    Furthermore I have concerns about the website security because the current permission is 777 which I know is exceedingly bad. However when I change the permission the website stop working correctly. What could be the possible reasons for that? I think of too many plugins or that the hosting and domain is different.

    Thanks in advance

  • Hi @onfine,

    Could you please paste the entire error message here?

    Also about the permissions, yes 777 is not the best option as it gives all read and write permissions. You may want to contact your web hosting provider for this permission issue. I don’t think plugins is an issue not is different hosting or domain.

    Thanks for replying Tanveer,

    well that was the entire error message: … file can’t be moved to the wp-content/etc. Magically today I could upload any media I want without doing something. So I think this is solved for now…

    Hmm okay thanks. But when I restrict the access of the website and it stops working correctly so it means it is not correctly configured, is it?

    Regards

    @onfine

    How are you restricting the access of the website exactly? And when you do so does the media library not let you upload the images?
