    I’m testing MEC for the first time and really like it. Was already considering the pro version too but suddenly I realized the translations are not working. Not a single line from translation file is read. I added more translation with Loco translate for sections I see on the screen but even they still stay in english.

    Weekdays I was able to translate from MEC settings, some time and date related translation come from WordPress but nothing gets loaded from .po and .mo translation files. I can see there are correct translation files, I can edit them and move around with Loco but they don’t get loaded by MEC.

    The WordPress itself is in finnish language, same for user.

    Any advice?

    Wordpress version: 5.9.3
    MEC lite version: 6.5.2
    PHP-version: Tested 8.0, 7.3 and now running 7.4.28
    Theme: Ashe but tested also with other themes.

    This can be closed. Found the solution.

    For some reason naming format has to be different than what it is with files that come with MEC.

    modern-events-calendar-lite-fi_FI.mo -> modern-events-calendar-lite-fi.mo
    modern-events-calendar-lite-fi_FI.po -> modern-events-calendar-lite-fi.po
