  • Is your plugin hosted at wordpress.org?

We didn’t make one ourselves, but there is one out there. Regardless, with the plugin just being called MaxMind, we believe it will cause customer confusion. If you would like to email me, that might be a better way to communicate.

I am not the plugin’s author. However wordpress.org can only ensure that these clashes do not exist between plugins uploaded here. It is not responsible for plugins hosted outside of wordpress.org. Perhaps the other developer could adjust his plugin’s description?

The search function isn’t working too well, but here are some of of the plug-ins using our data:

    http://wordpress.org/plugins/my-geo-posts-free/
    http://wordpress.org/plugins/georeg-lite/

There may be more, but I’m not sure. If this plug-in could just be called “MaxMind Hotel Reservation Plug-In” or something, that would be helpful.

Hi, Sorry I saw this so late… the company which links with this plugin is called Maxmind.eu hence the problem. I will rename the plugin in version 1.0.4, no problem 🙂

    Kind regards

FYI, if someone’s registered a trademark or name for a company, we generally do ask you not use that as the name of the plugin unless you have permission 🙂

For clarity, The company that uses the MaxMind.eu trademark in Europe gave me permission for this plugin 😉 I just did not realise (facepalm) there could be another company with the same name elsewhere in the world. The plugin is removed now and will be re-uploaded with another name and clear brand-distinction.
