Thank you for creating an amazing plugin. Are there any future plans to integrate with Matomo analytics?

    Hi,

Matomo support is in SEO Engine 0.9.2, out… now! ☀️

You’ll find it in Settings → Analytics. Enable Matomo, enter your server URL, Site ID, and API token, then pick Matomo as the Display Source. It covers both sides, so SEO Engine can inject the tracking code and pull data for your dashboards, top pages, and per-post traffic. Cloud and self-hosted both work. If you’re already using the Matomo for WordPress plugin, just turn off the Tracking option and SEO Engine will only read the data.

It’s in the free version, like Google Analytics, Plausible, and Private Analytics.

I built and tested it against a demo instance, so it’d really help to hear how it behaves on a real setup, especially if your Matomo is in a subdirectory or you’re on an older version. If anything looks off, let me know and I’ll fix it quickly.

Thanks for the kind words and the idea! 😊

This is amazing! Thank you for the extremely quick response and implementation. I was able to connect SEO Engine with a self-hosted, subdomain instance of Matomo and it works well.

    Some potential improvements:
Expand the date range selector to have more options, currently only has the ability to select one year, ideally this should be extended to 2 years, 3 years, 5 years, 10 years etc.

The dashboard for Matomo only displays total visits, unique visitors and bounce rate while the Google option has page views, average visit duration and pages per per visit.

Lastly, the Matomo option also doesn’t have the “Live – Active Users Right Now” functionality, or the ability select which domain or website, similar to google functionality where you can select which domain.

    Thanks again.

Thanks for testing it so fast! Almost everything’s done in SEO Engine 0.9.3 now! 😊

Date ranges now go up to 10 years, and the grouping (day, month, year) adjusts automatically to keep the chart readable. The dashboard also shows Page Views, Avg. Visit Duration, and Pages per Visit, plus a Live card at the top showing visitors from the last 5 minutes via Matomo’s Live API.

About site selection, Matomo doesn’t have a property list like Google, each site is just an ID, so the Site ID field in Settings → Analytics is how you switch between them.

If you have a minute, a review would help a lot 😊 Have a very nice day and thank you again!
