• Hi All!

I am trying desperately to add equations and symbols to my posts and comments but I am having a very difficult time. I tried all the common Latex plugins, and now I am just using Jetpack and the Beautiful math module. What I need is the ability to put a simple equation, like \[\sqrt { – 1} \], inline with the. I have tried everything and it always places the equation on a new line. It is also cumbersome to have to type $latex ….$ every time I just want to use a little square root or fraction. I am not using very complex math symbols, just high school level.

    Bill

The blog I need help with is pdcorner.com.

Have you looked at this plugin:

    Hi Bet!

Thanks for the reference, but yes I have. It requires too much work for a single inline expression.

I am hoping that there is some sort of editing toolbar like plugin where you click a button, a popup opens where you can edit latex expressions quickly, and then click save and they appear inline with your text.

    Any other ideas? Anyone?

    You could try MathJax:

I’m not aware of any solution to allow a “visual” type editing of mathematical formulas.

There is a visual editor over here, but after playing with it for a few minutes, it’s a bit rudimentary.

Thanks Otto, but I use MAthtype so the equation creation isn’t a problem, but being able to do it in a streamlined fashion. I use Mathtype.

I’m going to play with wpmathpub and see how I do. But you still have to:

    1. Know the syntax – might as well be latex
    2. Enter a [mathp] EQUATION [/mathp]

So if anyone else has any other suggestions please let me know!

And thanks so much to all of you for taking the time to try and help,

    Bill
