Massive memory surges

Since the last update to version 3.27.7 which ran on 14th March, my 3 x servers have had significant issues with surges in memory when prior to this point they were fine and had no performance issues. Did the last update include any changes that may have created this? Its as if the servers are continually reaching for something.
