Market description pop-up width?

After realising I’d created 10 markers (with only one showing) and deleted all those I didn’t need, thought I’d cracked it.
Wrong: can’t change the width of the marker description pop-up. Tried the Settings tab – has no effect.
Looked at it with Chrome Inspect – but there are too many divs and variables to work out what’s happening.
Why is the width setting in the Settings tab not changing the displayed width of the description pop-up?
