Inconsistent spacing and header image heights
When the AI assistant builds a page, it applies spacing and image settings block-by-block based on the content it generates, so small variations between sections can show up, especially with image height and vertical spacing. This is a known rough edge of AI-generated layouts rather than something you did wrong. The safest fix is to manually align the values once (e.g. matching the “Image Height” setting across your header blocks, and copying spacing from a block you like using Spectra’s Copy & Paste Style feature) rather than hunting for a single global switch, since AI output isn’t always perfectly uniform block to block.
Gutenberg flagging blocks as “broken”
This message usually appears when a block’s saved markup doesn’t exactly match what the block expects to render (often from a version mismatch during generation). I’m glad you were able to repair them. If this keeps happening on new pages, it’s worth double-checking that Spectra, Astra, and Starter Templates are all fully updated to their latest versions, since mismatched versions are the most common cause.
Blocks side-by-side in the frontend but stacked in the editor
This one isn’t a bug, it’s almost always the container’s layout settings reacting to the narrower editor canvas rather than your actual site width. A couple of things to check:
– At the top of the editor, make sure the device preview is set to Desktop (not Tablet or Mobile), since each container can have a different stacking behavior per device.
– Click on the outer container around those blocks and check its Layout settings (Flex/Grid) — if “Direction” is set to reverse to “Column” below a certain width, the editor’s own canvas width (which is narrower than your browser due to the sidebar) can trigger that breakpoint even though your real visitors on desktop will see it side-by-side.
– Try collapsing the right-hand settings sidebar or switching to Fullscreen mode (three-dot menu, top right) — this widens the canvas and often resolves the visual mismatch immediately.
