Many 508 server errors caused by trp-ajax.php

    Hi,

    We receive tens of 508 server errors, of kind you see below, when our site loads, with consequent exsausting of server resources and problem with our Host.

    After doing some debugging and reading some support texts here, around the problem, we managed to see that the problem is created when translatepress is trying to translate cookie banner scripts from english to greek.

    When we deactivate the cookie banner (complianz plugin ) the problem stops.

    Also it stops, when we check “Disable dynamic translation” from your plugin settings.

    But when we activate cookie banner again, the problem arises again.

    We can’t let the cookie banner disabled cause we need it in the website, and we need it to be translated properly.

    After making some contact with our Host support, they told us that there is no security restriction or soever in server configuration around the specific process, but they noticed that during the page loading the plugin fails to connect to the database.

    AH01071: Got error ‘PHP message: PHP Warning: mysqli_connect(): (HY000/1045): Access denied for user ‘roman_wp_tikke’@’::1′ (using password: YES) in /var/www/vhosts/banjo-show.com/httpdocs/WPSite/wp-content/plugins/translatepress-multilingual/includes/trp-ajax.php on line 108′, referer: https://banjo-show.com/el/

    What is the workaround for this please?

    How can we solve it?

    One approach would be to exclude your cookie banner from dynamic translation, more info here:https://translatepress.com/docs/settings/advanced-settings/#excludedynamic.

    However this should not be happening, would you mind telling me in what manner did you add the cookie banner so I can replicate your issue on my instance?

    Yes, this is the approach we temporary use, but it’s not the suitable one, cause we need the banner to be translated, and by that approach it can’t happen.

    However this should not be happening, would you mind telling me in what manner did you add the cookie banner so I can replicate your issue on my instance?

    We use Complianz wordpress plugin to have the cookie banner in the site.

    We also inform you that we use “Fix front-end translation over-detection” and “Front-end translation using admin-ajax” plugins, to smooth the problem.
    We had some improvement in the number of calls that cause 508 errors, but it still remain problematic for the site performance.
