Upon completing the UM registration form, people are being automatically approved instead of requiring admin approval.

Under the UM Form settings, it set to assign role as ‘Subscriber’. And the subscriber user role is set to require admin approval.

When I submit a registration form for the first time, it automatically approves the new user. Subsequent registration forms submitted (from the same computer/internet browser) then work as intended (displays the appropriate message saying approval is pending, and then shows the member as needing approval in the Word Press users dashboard. Clearing the internet browser data once again allows the first registration to be auto-approved, and subsequent registrations to require approval.

I’m completely stumped as to what is causing this problem. Any insight is greatly appreciated.

    Hi @sk133

Could you please check if there’s another role assigned to the new registered users? If there’s more than 1 role, you need to set the Subscriber as the primary role by adding the Priority number in the Role settings.

    Hey Champ,

Thanks for reaching out. There is only one role assigned to new registered users (Subscriber). On the User Roles page, everyone is listed as Subscriber with no one listed as Editor, Contributor, or Author. And I am the only one listed as Admin.

Other users described the same problem in this thread, but no solution was posted.

    Hi @sk133

That topic in the link was posted a year ago. Could you please confirm that you’re using the latest version 2.1.2?

    Hi @sk133

Could you please try deactivating other plugins and leave UM plugin active? Let’s see if this is a plugin conflict issue.

    @champsupertramp

Disabling all of the plugins besides UM resolves the issue; it now requires admin approval after submission, as intended. So at least it isn’t a conflict with the theme.

Any ideas on an efficient way to identify the conflicting plugin? Or is the only option to re-activate one at a time and check functionality?

    Found the problem plugin:

    A2 Fixed W3 Total Cache
    Version 0.9.4.6.4.6

With it deactivated, UM is working as intended.

Thanks for the help @champsupertramp, very much appreciated.
