• Since updating to 4.4.1, I have been dealing with my option for simple automatic, one click updates going away. I have since updated manually to 4.4.2 and was told that should fix it but is hasn’t. I am still having to deal with manual updates for the plugins, themes, etc. And, I can’t directly upload images either anymore.

I am from a graphic design background, but this is all over my head at this point. I can manage to do the manual updates via my host GoDaddy, but it is a tedious pain to deal with all the files/folders!! I am assuming this is some kind of FTP error or miscommunication between my host GoDaddy and WP along the way, but I don’t know how to fix it. Even when prompted to put in FTP info by WP for updates, it doesn’t work & I get error messages (and yes, all the correct login/password info).

I am really baffled by this & weary of dealing with it. Not being able to simply upload images today via the media library was my last straw. I NEED A SOLUTION TO THIS NIGHTMARE!! Suggestions – really anything at all – greatly appreciated. Thanks a bunch!

(Btw, I have another WP site with a different host that (**knock on wood**) runs very smoothly since the last couple WP updates with no problems so that’s why I am assuming it is a GoDaddy/WP thing.)

I have installed and worked with client sites using a variety of hosts:
godaddy, flywheel, wpengine, bluehost, siteground etc.
I have had issues of various kinds with all hosts. All issues have been resolvable.

If you feel like it would help to try a different hosting company to reduce your stress, I would do that.

Maybe try one of the managed WordPress hosting plan plans. More expensive monthly but might reduce some of the time you are spending. Some of the hosts might even offer migration services to help you move the website.
