Manual opt-in

I have several public subscribers who do not receive the confirmation emails or the reminder emails (which makes me worry that they will not receive the post emails too). In looking at the subscriber table it should be a simple matter to manually confirm them by simply adding the missing date and time. I don’t know their IP address, however. Can I just fake it in order to complete that record?
