since the upgrade to 3.2.1 the “date posted” has mainly not worked (sometimes it has but not enough to rely on).
Can you elaborate? What do you mean ‘not worked’? It shows the wrong date or what?

yep, can elaborate… thanks for asking.
if you are making a new post, or editing, on the right is a “publish date”, we need to be able to put a date in there of our choosing. we’re using it as a calendar for the whole organization and need to have the entries lined up correctly, and when the operator is given the entries bears no relationship to when the event is happening.
most of the time when we try to change the “publish date” we get a “red box” around that area and the date won’t change.
here’s the url, also.

thanks again

Out of the box, you can. While these directions are for .com, they work on self hosted: http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/schedule-a-post/
Are you saying THAT doesn’t work?

hi, the problem might be that we’re not scheduling for the future, but “scheduling for the past”. meaning, the operator has set up dates in 2007 e.g. that she uses to make the events line up correctly.
You can still do that. I do that all the time. Are you sure the date is valid? And it’s not April 31st or something?

hummmm ….. well, since i’m not the one updating, i can’t say for sure, but apparently she never had any trouble before the upgrade. have you upgraded to the latest?
thanks. π
Yep. Using 3.2.1 on multiple blogs, and I regularly pre and post date π
Next time she has the problem, tell her to take a screenshot so you can see what’s up. In the meantime, what plugins are you running?

great idea, screen shot, should have thought of it myself.
plugins: akismet (of course), DGE_InlineRSS, Executable PHP widget, My Category Order (essential), My Link Order (essential), WP Hide Post (essential). There are a few others that are de-activated. Also, i just updated them this afternoon, an hour or so ago. when i went to test some posts after that, i didn’t have any problems, and asked her to test BUT i think she’s gone for the day now, so haven’t heard back.
great to know you don’t have any problems pre and post dating!
one thing, but i don’t think its relevant is that there are 3 installations of WP on this site. i installed the first two “by hand”, this last one, the problem one, i ended up installing through my host through Fantasico. But, in updating it, i updated it myself, through the WP admin interface. Fantascio “thinks” that the installation is out-of-date … i don’t think any of that is relevant but thought i’d get your opinion.
best

Hitting the fantastico issue first, no, not an issue at all. There’s a file in your install, called fantastico.txt or something. If you edit that file to reflect the current version, Fantastico stops being dumb π
None of those plugins should cause an issue with pre or post dating posts.

Yep, great, on “smarting up Fantastico” …. did it, worked like a charm. it was fantversion.php
thanks for affirming that you don’t think there’s an issue with the plug-ins.
tomorrow, perhaps, i can get a screen shot and/or more testing from the blog operator.
thanks again!
