Manganescent front page help

I’m using the theme Manganescent (http://www.paddsolutions.com/wordpress-theme-manganescent/) and need help setting a front page.

The problem is if i make a page and set it to display that page as a static front page, i lose the slider. The slider works by displaying the latest posts, which means i end up with posts on the front page.

Is there anyway to display a static page on the front page but still use the slider? I’m trying to use it for a website not a blog.
